Board Members

My name is Jennifer Guillory, I am the Founder/CEO of The Butterfly Remnants Foundation. I have 5 kids but I have 9 total. I helped raise my nieces and nephews which I consider them my kids as well. Although I can never take their mothers place, I have always been here when they needed me. I have a total of 13 grand kids between all 9, but I have 3 biological grandkids. I have worked as a restaurant manager for about 20 years, along with working in the Plant Industry, and now working in Health Care. I am also an Aspiring Missionary/Chair Lady over the Overcomers Unit at my church St. Cathedral COGIC. I am a Mary Kay Consultant/Smart shopper.  I love helping others and encouraging others when I can or see a need. I have had a lot of life lessons, some good and some bad, but through it all I thank God I don’t look like what I’ve been through! I hope to help others with my transparency and life lessons to come out of some situations and also to help them to not get in other situations. I am currently working on becoming a better version of me! My go to scriptures that help me are Jeremiah 29:11, Philippians 4:13, and Isaiah 40:31. 

I currently work in healthcare and i enjoy my job. Years ago i went back to school to get my certification for Pharmacy Tech but was unable to graduate due to personal reasons at home. I was married to my abuser in 1982 and we divorced in 1994. We had one son together. I went on to become a Dental Assistant and worked in Louisiana but because my ex-husband repeatedly stalked me and threatened my life i moved to Dallas Texas. I had twin daughters in 1997 and remained working in dentistry. When my mother started to become ill I moved back to Louisiana to be closer to her. There is so much more to my story that i hope to share with you in hopes of helping someone to not make the same mistakes i made. I am still working on myself. Being part of this foundation is also a part of my healing. I've been in situations where i wished there was someone there that could relate to what i was going through. 

Midette (Reenette) Charles Jones

I am the mother of two daughters and two grandchildren. I worked in retail for 21 years as an Office/ Finance Manager. I am a current board member of Girlie Girls Mentoring Program. I am a Certified Wedding/Event planner. I work in Direct Selling as a Color Street Stylist. I love to cook and bake. I am a connoisseur of all ethnic foods. I  enjoy spending time with people who enjoy my company. My bible scripture is  Psalms 23 because I believe it covers every aspect of my life. I love servicing my community and helping were there is a need. I am learning everyday in order to help myself grow to serve others.

Darrin Nixon is a Lake Charles,Louisiana native where he attended Alfred M. Barbe High School. Nixon is now a Senior Psychology major at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. After graduation, Nixon has plans to obtain his Doctorate of Jurisprudence. While at NSULA, Nixon has charted 3 organizations which include : Gamma Omicron Phi, National Association for the Advancement Colored People, and The NSULA Club Tennis Team. Nixon also serves as the University's 2021-2022 Homecoming Honor Court King. In addition,  Nixon is a spring 21' initiate of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated! In the fraternal capacity, he serves as the 65th Regional  Assistant Vice President of the Southwestern Region. Nixon lives by the mantra of, " Live, Love, Lead"!

Growing up as a child and as an adult, domestic violence is not something I'm familiar with on a personal level. Of course we all go through things as children and even as adults where we experience some form of abuse. Such as verbal and or mental, which I can say I have experienced. Although I have heard stories from those who are close to me whether by friendship or family who have went through domestic abuse. So hearing those stories made me want to make a difference in someone's life in any way that I can. I personally work in the medical field so on multiple levels, I want to be the change in someone's life no matter how small or big! Hopefully we can achieve that as a foundation can be that change!
